Career Labourer
The Career Labourer at JDL Homes is an important person on site. This position is full of hard work and responsibility. This role is vital to achieving deadlines and maintaining flow from one trade to the next. At JDL Homes, a successful Career Labourer is one who is mature, dedicated, honest, physically fit, safety conscious and have their own reliable transportation.

Carpenter's Apprentice
The Carpenter’s Helper is someone who is typically starting out in the rewarding construction industry. At JDL Homes, Carpenter’s Helpers work directly under a Journeyman Carpenter or Crew lead. They desire to further develop their carpentry skills. JDL Homes is a proud member of the ITA training program. Here at JDL Homes, it is important for us to develop well rounded carpenters to handle the vast range of skills required in renovations and new home construction. The Carpenter’s Helper is responsible for their own hand tools and reliable transportation.

The Carpenter’s Helper is responsible for their own hand tools and reliable transportation.
Journeyman Carpenter
At JDL Homes, we require our Journeymen Carpenters to have a variety of experience. From forming suspended concrete stairs to building a complex roof on a new home construction project, we take pride in encouraging our staff to push themselves to the next level. All higher level staff must have a drive to learn more and be keen to work with new building technologies. A JDL Homes Journeyman Carpenter may have the responsibility of working with a Carpenter’s Helper and will be expected to share their working knowledge. The Journeyman Carpenter works under a Crew Lead on larger projects and may be expected to take on more responsibility when assigned a smaller project. Successful candidates will be natural born leaders, self-motivated, have excellent problem solving skills and a strong understanding of framing and engineering principles. This position requires a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and their own tools.

Foreman
The Site Superintendent position is an incredibly challenging position. The JDL Homes Site Superintendent is directly in contact with all trades and must maintain the schedule set by the Project Manager. The Site Superintendent must be extremely organized in order to maintain multiple sites. JDL Homes requires our Site Superintendents to be willing and able to get dirty on site in order to achieve timelines as well as maintaining a professional appearance expected by our clients. This position requires a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and their own hand tools.
