KITSILANO RENEWAL - VANCOUVER RENOVATION
This renovation in Kitsilano included many upgrades to the home's mechanical systems. A heat recovery ventilator with dual on demand hot water boilers ensure the family of four (including the legal suite) has ample hot water. We installed a ducted variable speed and zoned heat pump for heating/cooling. There was all new plumbing and electrical throughout along with all new triple paned windows with composite trims. We upgraded the home's insulation including spray foam. Along with increased energy efficiency of the home, we updated the structural integrity of the house by adding anchors into the existing foundation, added sheer walls, upgraded floor joists, beams, and connectors. Aesthetically, the clients wanted a timeless, bright, warm, and cozy home so we went with a neutral colour palette with lots of whites and greys. We also had custom millwork and built ins throughout to maximize their storage. We opened up their main floor plan to be more open concept and re-configured their primary ensuite to turn it into an oasis.
